FAQ

  • Can I store my jar in the shower?

Yes! Our jars have a watertight lid, meaning it is safe to store in the shower. When you are scrubbing, try to keep water out of your scrub contents. Damp hands are ok for scooping, but too much water will cause the mix to spoil.

  • Can I store my pouch in the shower?

We don’t recommend storing your pouch in the shower. The pouch is made of compostable materials with a paper outer layer, so it is likely to deteriorate quickly. We recommend transferring your scrub into our glass jars with a watertight lid.

  • Do your products contain any synthetic fragrances?

Absolutely not! There is not a synthetic fragrance or a phthalate insight of the BBB kitchen! Your hormones and health are safe here.

  • Do you products contain nut oils or other allergens?

Yes, our products contain nourishing Australian macadamia and sweet almond oil. Please see the ingredients list on each product page for further information.

  • Help! My scrub has dried out.

Being all natural and chemical free, there are no binders to keep the sugar and oil together. This means that the oil will settle on the bottom of the jar over time. Stir before use to evenly disperse the oils through the exfoliants. That way, you can stay feeling soft, buttery, moisturised, and smelling good enough to eat.

  • What do I do with the packaging?
    • If you bought a jar the cellulose liner is compostable.
    • If you bought a refill, the packet is compostable.
    • Once you have emptied the scrub into the jar, pop the liner into your green bin, garden or community compost, or bury it in the earth. Recycle all paper and cardboard packaging in your recycling bin or save the box and tissue paper for gift wrapping.
  • Can I use these products if I am pregnant?

We would advise you to check with your medical practitioner. There are differing opinions on the safety of the use of certain essential oils in pregnancy. The essential oils used in our products are as following:

    • Cinnamon
    • Ginger
    • Vanilla
    • Bergamont
    • Lavender
    • Grapefruit
    • Tangerine
    • Jasmine
  • Help, my refill pouch arrived and it has leaked?

Our refills are packaged in a compostable pouch that doesn’t LOVE oily based products. This means that sometimes, in transit, these pouches leak, a little or a lot. Unfortunately, the only refill packaging options are plastic or compostable, and we proudly plastic free, so we have opted for the compostable option. It’s a tricky balance but I hope you’re on board, a little oily pouch supports us all to reduce our impact, continue to offer the refills you love and keep plastic out of our oceans. Besides, you’re emptying the scrub straight into a jar and composting the pouch, so if she’s a little oily from the posties handling it’s really all ok right?
